On Sunday December 13th, 2009 Caledon's first community kitchen was opened in Palgrave United church! Fifty members of the community gathered to bang pots and pans to celebrate the 350.org "climate change" in Copenhagan talks. The community kitchen was financially supported by the UCW Palgrave unit, the Palgrave Environment committee and the Town of Caledon Green Fund.
The kitchen is a Peel Health Certified kitchen which includes an
industrial dishwasher. A number of kitchen wares
and equipment were purchased for future use in the
kitchen: mixers, blenders, bowls, pans, baker's
rack as well as small wares for baking and cooking
classes. The kitchen will be available for rental.
